I have the new M1 Max MBP and M1 MBA, but i find MBA display easier on the eyes, the DPI scalling is both set to 2x from native. But there is something about XDR display that i find text reading or looking at the screen in general harder for my eyes

Probably the higher contrast. I recalibrated my display on the 14" MacBook to make it slightly less contrasty, and that did it.

Oh how did you calibrate it? I have i1 Display Pro but that won't work because from my understanding these new displays don't read ICC profiles

When i click "Customize Preset" and then "+" to add and just add default ones it does look like it's better less contrasty but then i lose the brightness slider :(

Thank you both, i have calibrated and much better. but after restart offcourse the profile goes back to Apple one so i have to open CSU and apply again

I have used i1 Profile but i will try ccProfiler
