I have a tv with a DVI port and i was thinking of getting the new macbook pro, but what cable would i need to purchase (preferably from the apple store) to stream whats on the computer screen with sound in HD?

You would need a Mini DP to DVI adaptor and the appropriate cable to hook up to the TV

so if i plug that into the MBP it will connect directly to my TV? or do i need more cables?

that will take care of the video. youre going to need something to get the sound to your tv since it doesnt use HDMI.
