MBP13 Constantly Seeking External HDD

Hey all,

I have this behavior on my mac, where when I am on Firefox, every once in a while, it freezes for 3 seconds, and I see the indicator light on my external HDD flashing (aka reading).

I've noticed that this could be for Time Machine, as I have it backing up every hour. But I thought it was to be COMPLETELY transparent, with no disturbance of other applications. Yet, I get these annoying freezes a lot.


Any suggestions?

Go to Energy Saver Preferences and disable putting hdd to sleep
