MB has its place, but it's so ugly that a lot of people are willing to pay the premium for something that doesn't look like a childrens toy or something left over from apples 'ugly-phase'. (every one had an ugly phase growing up, apples was pretty bad).

They need to have something in the 899-1000 dollar range. I'm sure they cannot fit the new MBP into that range. Even an 899MB would be out of reach for many. Think about the hype a more affordable mac book would get. 799 or 899.

I think a lot of people disagrees with that statement, my wife for one. I prefer the MBP, but I do think the unibody MB looks good.
My wife thought the MBP is to masculine looking and chose the MB purely on looks. (No surprise there:rolleyes:)

I don't think the 13" MB is ugly at all. People had no issue with the older gen and they didn't look much different.

I'd rather see the 13" MBP go because there isn't much extra on offer. I could be wrong but I get the impression that most 13" users don't use the FW800 port and the aluminium body is no more rugged than plastic in real world use. Honestly though, there are enough customers for each of them to be kept on sale, there's nothing wrong with either.

I had the MBA11 for a month. I loved it because it doesn't waste room on all the things I never -or barely ever use- i.e. DVD drive, ethernet, firewire, SD card. But it was an impulsive buy, I didn't really need it, and it wasn't powerful enough to run intensive graphics on an external monitor. So when the trackpad broke after only 28 days, I jumped on the opportunity and returned it.

So based on my own experience, I voted for all 3 remain but MBP13 loses the optical drive. I honestly believe dropping the optical drive on the MBP13 to make room for discrete graphics is a good idea because it would satisfy a need that's not currently well addressed in the Apple lineup: a powerful ultraportable.

Meanwhile, the MB would (continue to) be the perfect laptop for those looking for a small laptop with an optical drive. Right now they have 2 viable options with little differenciation between the two, i.e. the question boils down to "do I spend $200 for a few extra options or do I get the cheaper one that does essentially the same".

Maybe its just me. How did she feel about the old-school imacs(g3) with different colored rounded backs and hockey puck mice?

You're foolish. This is not the same thing at all. I think the White Macbooks are very attractive, yet I cannot stand those colored iMacs. Not sure what you are trying to prove with this one.

I still have a graphite iMac and I like the look of it. Don´t think my wife is a big fan though.
But as said, it´s completly different than the white MB
