MBP17 wavy lines on display

MBP 17in Hi res Screen; recently developed a pattern of screen artifacts (see screenshot): anyone have any ideas as to what's going on here?

Those sorts of artefacts are usually caused by the Graphics Card failing and not the Screen.

As always talk to Apple for support. I believe they will replace your Logic Board.
