Hi friends,

I seem to not be having good luck with my macbook Pro. First, creaking case then hard drive glitch, now some sort of short in the system.

I took it to the genius Bar yesterday. I told him that the screen and keyboard backlight were intermittently going dark, sometimes flickering from the laptop being moved or picked up. He ran diagnostics and opened it up and said everything came out ok, except that when he opened it up he saw the same flickering of the screen and keyboard. He recommended replacing the main logicboard and display and connectors. ~$1150! Free for me because I have applecare. Glad I have a complete Time Machine backup. Oh well, at least it will be fixed.

:)

I'm missing the point of the thread. Your Mac has a problem. Apple is fixing it free under AppleCare. You have a backup. That's it?

Well I'm glad it worked out OP, hopefully the repaired unit will now be problem free.

The point of my thread...

I posted for the benefit of others who may have a similar issue.

And, I strongly recommend to everyone:

  • Backups
  • Applecare
