I've just noticed that the caps lock key on my MBPr is loose and moves around. I took it off and put it back, but it didn't fix it, so I assume that something in the 'scissor' mechanism broke/snapped.
Is this covered under the warranty?

Will apple replace that single key? or will they replace the whole keyboard?
Because the keyboard works, it's only the mechanism that needs to be replaced.

Hi,

I also had the same problem but with 2 keys C and I as they were not working properly. So i took my rMBP to Service Centre and they have told be to replace the entire keyboard as keys cannot be repaired separately.

So take your rMBP to service centre and if it is in warranty, they will replace half of the rMBP as the keyboard is connected to the batteries and other components infact the top silver area also.(as told by apple service engineer)

Thanks,

Well, this is what I wanted to avoid as it would take weeks to get it repaired:S

Anyways, thanks for the info!
