IDK why $1400 is supprising, everyone knows apple nearly doubles the true price of the hardware for brand new machines...Why else do you think you can get an Asus machine with similar hardware specs for about 1k? (cept the retinia display of course)

I was only shocked because I thought it was going to be 2k for repairs. Aren't logic boards like 1k?

I'm not doubting you. It's still a weird breakdown. $39 repair labor is quite low. Board,IO is something I'm not sure on. It's too low to be a logic board, unless the estimate is somehow capped. I'm not sure how to make sense of the overall. I will say that if your credit card company is covering it, you made a good choice on credit cards.

I'm going to give the store a call tomorrow and just double check. The credit card is the TD Travel Infinite card. It's $180/year or free with min checking balance. I didn't even know it came with this coverage until this morning. It also double your warranty on all purchases.

Just phoned up the store. Turns out he forgot to add the logic board which is $600.00
