I upgraded to the newest studio display XDR
I have a fully specced out macbookpro M3 Max and only seeing 60hz on the dropdown.

I am running Sequoia 15.7.4

I am reading that the M3 Max is supported for Pro Motion 120hz but not sure why i am not seeing it

Anybody else with an M3 Max and having issues getting 120hz on their new monitor?

Should probably update your OS

Yeah that did it. I am usually hesitant to update when all my software runs perfectly, but this time I guess I had to.

Don't mean to hijack your thread but just wanted to confirm that aside from the missing 120hz refresh rate, your Studio XDR was working with MacOS Sequoia? I also have a M3 Max 16-core Macbook Pro that's on Sonoma 14.8.4 and I can't get the Studio XDR display to brighten above the minimum level; moving the slider to max brightness has no effect. I am also trying to avoid Tahoe so maybe moving to Sequoia will be the solution. Incidentally, 120hz refresh rate is also not in Sonoma's display setting for the Studio XDR.

Interesting - I also have a 2019 Intel Macbook Pro running Sequoia that is able to connect to the Studio XDR at 120Hz. Attached is a screenshot. The screenshot shows the Studio XDR as an extended display but 120Hz refresh rate is also available when it's set to main display. Sound through the display speakers is also working by switching to the Studio Display XDR Speakers option in the sound output menu.

Do you know Better Display?

Do you know Better Display?

Thanks for the suggestion - I installed it and it detects the Studio XDR but it's buggy with Sonoma. The brightness slider did nothiing and at one point, the Studio XDR completely went dark while I had it it as the main display. I couldn't see the controls to set it to extended or mirror display. The built-in display also disappeared when my laptop connected to Studio XDR. It's early days so I hope Better Display will improve the compatability of the Studio XDR with pre-Tahoe OS but right now, it seems like Sequoia or Tahoe are the only ones that work.
