troubleshooting issue on another laptop, also mcb air

works perfectly , but doesn't cool properly, temp goes over 70C* - over few hours slowness increases so the temp.

nvram src reset
opened bottom cover, cleaned everything (airway, fan) replaced thermal paste - no luck

fan seems to be stuck at 2000rpm according to fanny
will fan replacement help here? or probably board fault?

Why do you think 70c is a problem?
More than 95 and you can start looking for solutions

Is it out of warranty?

Take it apart and clean the fan and copper fins. Slap fresh paste on it.

Other wise take it to Apple store.

Sorry to hijack the thread.

I think my laptop is definitely overheating... I hover between 170-190 temp and I'm still using the original battery from 2011.

Thinking of getting the new heatsink, thermal paste and battery from ifixit.com

Any suggestions on where to buy these parts if not from ifixit?

I don't believe the software. Converted to Fahrenheit, that's almost 340 degrees! I think you have a sensor problem.

At what temperature does plastic begin to melt?
