What a load of "unspeakable terms"...

. When is an exclusive system "best for customers"
. When is the lack of choice "good for customers"
. If you are so confident that your platform is more "Consumer friendly" and "consumers want more", why insist on exclusivity ?
. How did you convince retailers to sign an exclusivity? What did you offer them in return ? If this is good for customers, why don't you say what you offered in return ?

On the payment front, CurrentC will support a variety of methods including store cards, gift cards, debit cards, and checking account withdrawals, with two credit card companies even on board at this stage. Over time, MCX expects all cards to be welcomed, even with the interchange fees charged for credit card usage.

So then... what's the point? I thought it was "as long as VISA suffers"

Apple must be thrilled. Apple Pay has been out for about a week and its already the status quo. LOL This company's insincerity makes me want to puke. Just admit you want our info! Since when did our freaking buying habits become the most sought after information in the universe? Some how business existed before the ability to track everything I buy, and I'm sure it will continue after MCX is dead. I couldn't care less if Visa charges you a percentage. If you want us to care, split the difference with us!

He said the merchants believe customers want more than just mobile payments, and CurrentC's integration of payments with loyalty cards and coupons will in his opinion prove to be the best solution.
No, I actually just want mobile payments, and those ****ing customer-tracking cards, and the hoops they make you jump thru to get sale-priced items, can go **** themselves.

I thought they were anti-credit card and wanted to take down the man?

Ok so then why don't they call CVS and Rite-Aid headquarters and tell them to turn NFC back on. Since they're in support of credit cards and all. ;)

"...Davidson noted that attacks on their systems were expected...."

So what happens when they are not expecting hacks?

This is just like "Baghdad Bob" claiming US Troops can't get to the City but then a split screen comes on with soldiers reclining at the Airport. These PR people as funny with today's hack telling us it is secure!

I'm dying......

From laughter. Oh my god. What morons. Haven't even launched yet and they were breeched. And look at their roster in previous postings. It's like the D-team of stores. And Wal Mart is always prominently listed. Wal Mart. No wonder these people are such a joke.

Coming in 2015 - an epic fail, massive privacy invasion, and tail-between-the-legs retailers lining up to use ApplePay because this giant floating turd will swirl the rim and shoot straight into the sewer.

Can't a store still scan a keyring barcode then accept payment with NFC? At CVS I use the barcode to get discounts which then show on the payment register. I really don't see how they lose by a customer using ApplePay rather than their system. Is it a matter of the transaction fee?

What about the fact MCX was just hacked and had to send out a notice to their testers that their email accounts were pulled?? umm... yeah..

thats a LOL!

More hassle, more privacy concerns, no benefit to the consumer. Why the hell they think this is going to catch on on any level is simply bewildering.

They suffered from really bad timing. If they would have told their partners to shut down NFC before Apple activated Apple Pay nobody would have noticed. Nobody would have complained that MCX took something away, because nobody ever promised that it'll work at CVS et al.

I kinda feel for them.

Let's downvote their app. That'll show them! Let's tell everybody how stupid their ideas are! Let's go to Facebook and attack them! Let's fill shopping carts at their stores and tell them that we can only pay with Apple Pay. They must learn their lesson! Don't mess with the angry customer!

Stupid *****torm mentality.

Good thing is the average joe will only hear...'blablabla got hacked...blablabla'.

So they (hopefully) not gonna use the system. The average user doesnt care about the technology and the 'status quo', as long as it works with on their device.

It doesn't make any sense. The only way CurrentC will take off is if they bribe people to use it via coupons and discounts. But rumors are Apple is working on adding loyalty cards to Pay so that might not even be an advantage.

To be honest even that wouldn't make me sign up for CurrentC. I care more about my identity & security then I do about some loyalty points that most of the time I never use

What he means by "challenging the status quo" is screwing credit card companies. I guess we're all supposed to hate Visa, Master Card and Amex and by extension Apple because they worked with the credit card companies to implement Pay.

That is between the CC companies and the vendors.

I am not sure how opening another account with MXC (connected to my checking account) is something I am willing to do.

Seems like the obvious issue is hacking since it is like on stop shopping for them, but also employees of the merchant stores that have access to SSN, banking info, address...etc. right at their finger tips.

A brand new service with a probably laggy and ****** UI that requires ALL of your sensitive information (social sec, bank acts, name and address, etc) stored on corporate-owned cloud servers?

Not only is this just basically an easy way for retailers to monetize and traffic your personal data and activities (i.e the consumer as a "product"), its also ripe for hackers. There WILL be a security breach on this thing within a year of it launching, mark my words.

So, I guess when MCX is rolled out, CVS and Rite Aid will stop accepting credit cards all together, since they know what is best for their customers?

I view Apply pay only as a secure form of mobile payment. I don't understand why both systems cannot co-exist. If MCX is truly in the best interest for the consumer, it will succeed. Will these merchants refuse to accept NFC credit cards when they are rolled out in the US?

I think it is ironic that the credit card industry has been a big player in these merchant's growth and profitability over the years. If our society had stuck to cash & check only, a lot of purchases just would not have happened.

The dashboard will allow users to tailor their level of engagement with retailers, ranging from complete anonymity to identifiable relationships that will allow for customized offers, coupons, and other benefits.

"complete anonymity". BS.
