Some time ago I posted in this thread (#49) that my 1.42 dual MDD had idle temperatures of around 55C.
Since adding Chud tools and Nap mode to the mix I can now say the idle temperatures are closer to 35-40C, a real improvement and according to xBench and Geekbench all this without any noticeable performance hit.

Which version of CHUD did you install?
Mine (Dual 1.25GHz FW800) without CHUD idles at 49°C in winter, with 20°C room temperature, and about 55°C in summer with 28°C room temperature.
