Just got a new mini , the hdmi outputs fine to my tv but when i try to output to the same tv with mdp/vga adapter the tv reports no signal. I need to connect to the tv with the vga so I can use the tv's picture in picture. My dvr and other av components are brought in to the tv through hdmi and i need the mini on vga as the vizio won't allow you to pip two different hdmi inputs. any ideas?

I've tried two different cables, no luck. I plug the vizio downstairs in and boom it works fine with the mini connected to VGA.

strong chance you can't do what you are trying to do. I have two tv's one of them has a vga pc port and 3 hdmi ports it only allows the mini to work on the vga none of the hdmi's. my other tv has all hdmi's and any of the hdmi's allows the mini signal.

so you need to check the tv manual out. oh and I have a sharp and a sony. sounds like you have 2 different vizio's maybe one has a special setting in the manual

Thanks for the reply. I've dragged the smaller downstairs tv up to see what happens when I try to connect both displays. With the older smaller tv connected to the hdmi, I still get no Indication from the tv or the mini that they are connected.
