My play, pause, skip forward and backward keys worked great, until High Sierra. They were always mapped to iTunes before. Now, sometimes they work in iTunes, sometimes it is with a video that is on the screen, rather than iTunes, even though iTunes is playing. I can't seem to figure out if they are broken, or just set up differently than in Sierra. Anyone else have this problem, or know what to do?

I noticed this as well, and think it's intentional behavior. Would be nice if Apple includes the ability to prioritize.

Yeah, I think you're right. Huge disappointment for me, seeing as I have iTunes playing probably 90% of the time on my MacBook Pro, and it isn't easy anymore to play/pause on the fly anymore. Really wish we could customize this behavior.
