Being someone who repairs iPhones for company, I immediately found a ton of issues with the video. I'll try and list them here. This is all from Apple's video found
here.
1. Yes, no camera bump.
And this is a iPhone 6 body, no little "S" on the bottom. (0:05) and (0:07). And it is not some unknown iPhone 7.
2. Rips the ribbons, maybe not.
It's tearing the LCD/screen ribbons, but somehow it still has the connectors not ripped off.
Here is the connectors still attached to the ribbons (0:18).
And then here is the shot right after (0:20) showing that the plate holding the connectors is still screwed down. This would cause all the 4 ribbons to rip their connectors. Yes I know that this shot of the video is in the next scene where the camera is taking a picture of the remaining components.
3. Not just iPhone 6's
MacRumors quoted Apple, "Liam will initially focus on recycling junked iPhone 6 handsets". Here's Liam taking the sim tray out of an iPhone 5/5S/SE. (0:30)
And here are sim trays from iPhone 5's and 6's as well as battery cover plates from various iPhones. (0:31)
4. Doesn't actually rip the screen.
This now is related to my first point, in this shot (0:32), you see Liam holding an iPhone, but with the screen still attached but being held up in place. It is brought to a suction up that grabs the screen unit and drops it. You could assume before this the screws and plate were removed and the suction is pulling the connections off, but we don't see that. Error here is the incorrect order of the phone, for camera purposes. (And by the way, this is an iPhone 5/5S screen, not 6).
And then its funny because as it shows the screen unit dropping, it shows the LCD shield plate dropping into a pile right after. (0:36)
5. No glue tape on the battery.
As Liam very quickly suction cups the battery out of the iPhone 6, it pulls the battery right out without any resistance. Apple has used this really sticky white glue/tape to hold the batteries in place. They are very frustrating to remove. You can see the two tabs of tape on the battery but then it just pulls it out without any tape left over. (0:38)
So these were just some personal observations. Noting to freak out about, like someone said, this could of all been computer generated with some errors and typos. Overall, I just really want to see this disassembly line for myself!
And here I found someone got an inside look at Liam a couple days before he was announced!
