A RECEPTIONIST plucked from obscurity to become the real-life Lara Croft already has her first mission - to find herself a man!

Single Alison Carroll, 23, from Croydon was today unveiled as the public face and body of the Tomb Raider cyberbabe after beating hundreds of other girls to the coveted role.

She will now travel the globe meeting fans of the hit computer adventures and acting out stunts from the game.

I think a friend of mine was in running for this too. Is she Lara? Not IMO :(

Wow, she's beautiful...stop me if I'm wrong, but isn't her accent considered more "low class" (pardon the expression)? Not that that would stop me, of course. :)

I haven't listened to the video (at work), but she's from Croydon, so probably  :p

Croydon is what tipped me off, but listening to the video confirmed it. Again, I wouldn't mind "good morning, honey" in that accent for the rest of my life. ;)

So she shakes peoples hands and does an occasional backflip?

Well, when you look that good you don't have to work hard to make a living.

I don't think she sounds too bad, there was a hint of South London-ish in her voice but I thought she spoke fairly "proper".

I like her. :D

Fair enough. So South London is the "low class" accent then?
Stereotypically maybe, you can often find a bit more of that urban slang BS talk from around there but that can be found everywhere and there's plenty of people from south london who don't speak like that.
I think thick Essex accents sound a lot worse anyway.

I'm definitely no expert but she didn't sound too 'improper' to me.

That may be because Croydon is in South London, or at least in the "Greater London" area.

I'm not at all familiar with accents or every county, but I guessed even more south than that. Would have just said "Sussex", although I realize it's a pretty big area.

The accent doesn't sound bad to me at all, but that may be a sign of my social status more than anything else. ;)

Yeah, that's what I was getting at. :p There was a hint of that stereotypically croydon/south londony accent but nothing obscene.

wait, why are we talking about her accent? :D

All this talk about what she sounds like...I think you're missing the point. We're talking about a walking talking Lara Croft damn it! :p

Hahaha, well, what is there to talk about, other than a very attractive women doing gymnastics and waving her guns around? Pretty sexy.
