For a girl who likes Sex and the City, maybe get

- Mamma Mia
- Kung-fu Panda
- Zack and Miri Make a Porno

They're good films to watch between serious films.

And since this is a 24 hour movie marathon with just your girlfriend, you need to sneak a porn in there....

Comedy:
Old School
Super Troopers
The Princess Bride
Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle
Shaun of the Dead (more of a zombie romantic comedy)

Thriller:
8mm
Taken
Hostage

Action
Die Hard (1-4)
Bad Boys (1 & 2)

Wow guys! Some seriously good suggestions coming through!

Harold and Kumar (both white castle and guantanamo bay) are a good shout as it is really funny, superbad, Team America and Airplane should all make an appearance too!

Watched Taken the other day too! Really good all the way up to the ending which was a bit of an anticlimax! But Im sure we can fit it in somewhere!

Saw movies are a good call as the gore is just worth watching ! ! !

Keep the suggestions coming! These are great

Here's some suggestions from your stereotypical genres:

Event Horizon - Sci Fi Horror
Top Gun - Classic Action/Drama
Kill Bill 1 & 2 - Martial Arts
Cheech & Chong Up in Smoke - Stoner Flick
Jaws - Just Classic
Christmas Vacation - Holiday Film
The Game - Psychological Thriller/Mystery
Saving Private Ryan - War Movie
Hairspray - Musical (the recent one is fun)
Bull Durham - Sports
Beaches - Classic Chick Flick
Batman Dark Knight - Comic Book/Superhero
Cars or Kung Fu Panda - Cartoon/Kids Movie

As far as a comedy goes I would do some type of stand-up if your doing a movie marathon. This would break up the storyline motif and give you a real humor break. Just pick a comedian that both of you really like.

Have fun. :)

Funny, I just completed my own little mini marathon over Memorial Day. All four Lethal Weapons, hehe. My next one [I try to at least one a month] will probably consist of an all 80's flashback! +2 to you sir on both Bill and Ted and Weird Science; two of my all time favs from my kiddie days. I see your Uncle Buck and I shall raise you True Romance [also from the '90's but deserves a mention for any marathon].
