I am looking for memory with the best value and best performance my mac pro came with 2 gb 4x512mb I also would like to know if i can lets say put in 4x 2gb and leave those and will it work well ( in dual channel) if possible something from new egg my mac is the one with the dual 3ghz xeons ddr2

By the way, punctuation marks are your friends.

But, yes, as long as you add memory in pairs (required) and have 4 or more total modules, you'll be running at maximum efficiency.
