I didn't know the 2010 21.5" iMac had access doors? I seem to remember that a screen had to be removed below the display before the memory modules were visible. Anyway, go to www.ifixit.com and find out for yourself.

Nope... on the bottom there is a plate you unscrew to access memory... just upgraded from 4 to 12 gb and replaced the old seagate 7200 rpm drive with a SSD... .
Thank you to all who answered my questionYeah, I mislabeled it as a screen but it is in fact a plate with holes and screwed to the bottom of the chassis below the display. The plate on the 21.5" model will not fit the 27" model.
