Is it possible to use RAM from an iMac 2015 in a Mac Mini 2012?

Acccording to Kingston.com there is only one difference; the iMac uses 1.35V memory whilst the Mac Mini uses 1.5V. That is of course an important difference, but I can't find that difference mentioned anywhere else.

Anyone that knows?

Tia,

Mac mini (2012) uses PC3-12800 DDR3, Non-ECC, 204-pin SO-DIMM memorymodules with 1600 MHz speed on 1.35V.

The 21.5" iMac 2015 has soldered RAM, the 27" 2015 iMac uses PC3-14900, DDR3L SODIMM memory modules with 1866 MHz speed and 1.35V.

If the 1866 MHz DDR3L would work in Mac mini? Well, maybe, at least in theory. However I don't know, if the chipset in the Mac mini allows DDR3L RAM to be usable.

Try it and report back. ;)

Thanks for the answer.

I tried, and it worked without a flaw.
