I just bought a refurbished 2019 I9 Imac with 8gb of memory. I'm looking to upgrade it to 32 and am wondering what the best memory might be. Looking online at Amazon a lot of the modules there get some bad reviews. I have had good luck in the past with OWC ram so am wondering should I just spend the extra few dollars and go with their ram or are there reliable less expensive options available?

I always recommend the higher quality parts, not worth the hassle of something that may not work and require you to return/re-order/re-install and all that. But that's me. What do you think?

I personally would look for the OEM manufacturers Apple uses: Crucial/Micron, Samsung, SK Hynix and Elpida. For me it does not make any sense to look at OWC, since those are likely rebranded sticks from the manufacturers listed above.

Thanks for the replies. Looking on Amazon neither OWC or Crucial and not that much more expensive than some of the brands I’ve never heard of and they get much better reviews. I had had good luck with both brands so I guess I will just go ahead and spend the few extra dollars.

I've been using two 8GB Timetec memory for a total of 24GB on my 2019 iMac and it has been working perfectly. No issues.

i looked at this memory as it was a bit less expensive than some of the others, but the Reviews of it seem to mention some issues.
I have a hard time making purchase decisions on anything anymore, since everything seems to have reviews now, and it’s always easy to find bad ones.

Its always easy to return to amazon if it doesn’t work. Plus they have a lifetime warranty. I found these to be the best for the value.

I know returns are easy at Amazon. I’m supposed to pick up this Mac tomorrow at the Apple store so I will make my decision in the morning.

Crucial or Timetec will be your best bet and their prices are quite reasonable.
