So as in storage space? How do you know it's running out? How much free do you actually have and what's taking it up (you can usually see it in Settings > General > Usage)?

yea if you stream movies it sometimes downloads them and takes a crap load of your memory. When my nieces come over I put disney movies on my iPad and iPhone for them to watch. Then delete them from my memory.

I also went to the apple store and they told me that you might be backing up the iPhone wrong by not disconnecting it which corrupts the data.

I was having the same problem as you are and decided to just restore to factory settings and haven't had a issue since.
