Memory swap question

I am purchasing the 2gig memory package from Crucial for my intel core2duo blackbook. I also have a core duo mac mini with 512mb of ram. If I put the 2gigs in my macbook, can I put the 1gig set that came with the core2duo macbook in my core duo mini?
