Just a question of curiosity, when you first turn your computer on, and before you open up any programs or do anything, how much RAM is your comp using? I have 2GB in mine, and it starts out around 1.5gb.

Starts with 1.5 GB free or used? I'm in Leopard 10.5.3 with VMWare Fusion installed, activity monitor tells me that Leopard is only using around 300 MB of memory... (Wired and active memory)

I've got 4GB RAM and have 2.5-3.5gb used at any given time.

edit - totally missed the point. When I boot, I'd say about .5gb used (similar to you)
