So yesterday I 'pre-ordered' the Rose Gold iPhone 6s. Have yet to see it in real life, but so far the pictures on the internet seem to confirm what I thought the color looks like. Pretty sure I'm keeping it. :p

I just want to hit heads with a hammer for saying this color is anywhere close to being a girly color! I recently got my phone & no one, literally no one thought it could be perceived girly in any sense! I can't believe that people are still discussing this stupid obnoxious topic!

Everyone who has seen mine seems to think the color is awesome. I don't disagree.

Gay dude here.

Personally, I'm tired of white iPhones. I had a white 5 and a white 5S. I just don't like the rectangular that is so in your face. Let alone the black border between the screen panel and the body. Last year I got a space gray 6 and this year it's all about the 6S Plus in space gray again.
If it was available in black/rose gold, I might consider it. Who knows. On the other hand, my boyfriend is gonna get a 6S in rose gold. He likes it.

I really don't get these threads! It looks like they are created by closeted guys lol

If you're straight and like this particular color combination, go for it! It's not gonna change your sexual preferences lol
If you're concerned what others might think, well, there is definitely something wrong with you. Maybe it's time to come out? lol

It was a non-starter for me, when it came time to pre-order.

But after seeing it live, I would choose the Rose Gold; especially after seeing how Leo LaPorte on TWiT warmed up to it.

It's pretty cool how it shimmers from pink to peach/gold-ish.

Not an issue for one to be insecure about. In fact, now that I'm contemplating returning my Plus for a regular size model, i find myself searching out stores with Rose Gold available.

Leo Laporte is who you're basing your decision on? That would not be my choice. lol.

Here's the issue. It's not the individual who's at fault here - it's the culture our country has fostered over the past half century. In certain work places it would be frowned upon for a dude to carry a pink phone - some view it as unprofessional, and others (with a bit of bigotry) feel it's not "manly" enough.

Corporate America is run by people that grew up in a different era, and its often difficult to change the views/values/opinions fostered in the leadership.

My opinion: get a phone you like, be proud of the purchase, and enjoy the purchase. Unfortunately, though, it simply isn't an option for some.

People love to put their noses in things that don't concern them. Call it insecurity, call it the need to reassure themselves their choice is the right choice, I dunno. I think a black phone is boring and plain but I don't create threads trashing it. LOL. I say if someone wants a black phone, MORE PINK PHONES FOR ME!

Okay i know there have been a lot of threads about this but hear me out.

1) I'm secure in my masculinity and im straight so i dont have a problem with having a pink phone.
2) I know people say who cares what others think of you, but...

Let's be honest, everything we do - what we wear, how we act, what we buy, etc is in part influenced by how other people look at you. Would you wear ratty neon colored clothes 24/7? No, because we want to look nice and make good impressions. So let's be honest, is it awkward to have a pink phone?

I bring this up now because I had a bad experience at a local convenience store. The convenience store was advertising that they now accept Apple Pay (took them long enough, lol). i got out my 128GB Rose Gold iPhone 6+, and tapped it to the e-reader. Something beeped and then it said "transaction not authorized" on the reader even though my phone brought up my credit card on Apple Pay. i was flustered, tried again but got the same result. This drew the attention of the clerk who leaned over and looked at my phone I audibly heard her giggle when she saw it. She said "your phone is cute! but apparently it doesnt want to let you pay". I was so embarrassed at this point that I gave up and handed her my American Express card.

Anyway, I like the pink, but if we're honest with ourselves, Apple made two phones for each gender: Space Gray and Gold for men, and Silver and Rose Gold for women. I didn't want to worry about what others think of me, but after that horrible experience at the store I'm likely going to see about exchanging my phone for a 128GB Gold model.

LOL Space Gray and Gold for Men? and silver and Rose Gold for women? Thats just dumb. I have a silver phone and I have never considered it a color for women. I work at Best buy Mobile and most girls go with the rose gold and Gold iPhones. Most guys get Space Gray and silver, I've sold rose gold iPhone to several guys and they were not ashamed of it and I saw nothing wrong about it. I get your point tho, yes People judge others by what they have and they love doing it, I don't think people should refrain from buying something they like, people need to get thicker skin and understand that people have their own opinions and they won't hesitate voicing it.

I live in the south and most of my friends have big trucks and they're all about hunting and fishing and riding their big trucks, I bought a new car recently a 2014 Hyundai Accent Hatchback, yep they were teasing me the whole time about my tiny girly car, but hey I liked it, I bought it and I enjoy it, I don't like big cars so I thought this was the perfect one, I'm not gonna keep myself from buying what I like just because of what other people think.

I just whip out my manhood when I pull out my phone. Turns the giggles into gasps of astonishment. Of course, it takes me 15 minutes just to get everything readjusted afterwords...

And Space Grey is the only man's color. Gold is for transgender. Need a color for every spectrum of the rainbow, dontcha know?

Color has never mattered to me as I always use a case which covers it anyway. Mine can be candy apple red and I would never know it.

Gold is for transgender? :D
A black phone with a dull grey back isn't very exciting is it? White/silver for me. My second choice would be white/gold and after that I guess the slate grey but meh.

Personally (and less tongue in cheek than my previous post), I like the black front more than anything. You can cover the back up with a case if you want to change things up, but you can't do much about the front.

To each their own, though... Which is why Apple offers a few options. It would be cool of they did like they did with the Ipods, though... Something with a little more pizzazz.

Honestly I would have considered a Rose Gold with black front. Why didn't Apple think of that?

Something as elegant as an iPhone with a timeless design can really not ever have a colour that's not gender neutral. That's it. Period.

What the color of one's iPhone says about a man:

Space Gray: Professional
Silver: Glamorous
Gold: Juvenile
Rose Gold: Effeminate

And there's nothing wrong with either of these characteristics. We're all different.

I am getting a rose gold iPhone 6s plus and a rose gold watch in january when i travel to Japan <3
Since compared to norwegian price its alot cheaper in Japan! As prices on apple went up in Norway.
Because of a weak krone (NOK) compared to dollars.
So saving over 4000 kr (about 477 dollars) which means i am considering getting a new iPad too lol...

But the reason i wanted to post in the thread is for the haters of rose gold:

*An oft-quoted 1918 Ladies’ Home Journal article declared that: “There has been a great diversity of opinion on the subject, but the generally accepted rule is pink for the boy and blue for the girl. The reason is that pink, being a more decided and stronger colour, is more suitable for the boy, while blue, which is more delicate and dainty, is prettier for the girl.”

Funny how things change trough the years ;)

I just want to know how many straight blokes getting the pink phone actually own pink clothing or have sneakers with pink on them? Because I keep hearing it's because they like pink... yeah right. It's because it's the only way to identify the new iPhone along with it being new. Now I'm not saying all, but I'd think it makes up a large percentage.

And anybody who believes pink is gender neutral is just in denial. You can say it all you want, but the colour pink as it stands in 2015 and has stood for the past 50 years in western society is a feminine colour.

Now that doesn't mean you can't get a pink iphone for whatever reason you want, but the denial for both the reason and gender bias from some people is funny.

I bought two, my wife likes it cause it's a very bright metallic pink. My daughter likes hers because a day before it arrived she dropped her iPhone 6 and the screen shattered. I think if you like pink buy it. I only buy space grey because Apple is too stubborn to offer Black. Lots of people I know love Black. But this is Apple, they do what they want
