I'm having issues with the menu bar on the top of my screen. I have customized it a million times. I have no bluetooth hardware that I desire to use with my laptop, and I don't care anyway. I want Bluetooth off, but it always turns itself on. It also keeps appearing on my menu bar and I want it out.
Secondly, the displays button keeps dissappearing, and I want my power source information to remain up there as well. It just keeps going away and I have to keep adding it back up there. How do I configure this so it does not keep changing on me?

if you are not going to use bluetooth at all on it then just delete the bluetooth software. problem solved.

that doesnt answer my question though. i dont know how to get rid of the bluetooth thing either.

It could be a permissions problem to do with access of the preferences file. Try repairing permissions in Disk Utility.

Also open Home/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systemuiserver.plist. It will contains the locations of all the menu extras to put in the menubar. Does it contain the menus that are there at the moment, or the ones that it keeps reverting to that you don't want?

sounds like a permissions problem...

but for reference, to remove a menulet from the menu bar, hold cmd and drag it off. poof.
to rearrange them, hold cmd and move it. almost like rearranging the dock...
