Menu Bar Missing After SL Install

So far the first thing that I have noticed that is buggy is that all my menu bar items are missing. Spotlight appears for two seconds then disappears. I have tried enabling everything in system preferences but when I go into some of the preferences it freezes up. I have also removed all third party apps from the menu bar. I am currently doing a Disk Permission check and repair if needed but this has me thinking this is not going to be a smooth transition like it was from Tiger to Leopard.

BTW SRS iWow does not work in SL. $31 dollars spent and now I am starting to regret it. I was happy with Leopard why bother...

Well it looks like I will be restoring from a time machine backup back to leopard

I will probably just create a new user account and switch over to that.

Just turn off iStat menu and your menu bar should work OK
