Most likely the iPhone Accessories will also work on the iPod Touch and iPad

People want to find there Jailbreak Forum in one place, not three. iPhone Hacks are compatible with iPod Touch for the most part. Many are ported to the iPad as well.

As for Tips, Help and Troubleshooting, a lot of the solutions will help all users, not just the specific device user.

If we were to do that, we'd be getting requests to split the forums back up, because members would be tired of wading through threads that aren't specific to their device.

I see your point, but I'm guessing we make more people happy the way it is.

True, hardware wise it should be split. But software-wise, it makes no sense. Maybe there is some kind of work-a-around? From what I've seen, iPod Touch and iPad questions in terms of software aren't getting answered as quickly as the same questions put in to the iPhone software forums.

I think the iOS devices should be treated the same as OS X devices, the way Apple wants it to be.

Move + merge all "hacks" forums into one forum under iOS.

Move iOS to Apple System & Services alongside Mac OS X.

Move iPad, iPhone, iPod to Apple Hardware.

That's just my opinion though - everyone has one of those.

There's enough differences to justify the change.
Especially since theyre used for different things.

I can't imagine an iPad being in the same thread as an iPod Touch, because although they're the same they're completely different in terms of use.

I don't want to go through a thread of "What do you use your iPad for?" or "iPad as a replacement laptop" while looking for iPod or iPhone things.

Also, whenever a new one is released, there will be a million threads about the specific device coming out.

They are the same software wise that's why there's the ios5 forum where all software questions should go technically.

Ok, so what about Jailbreak questions?

Jailbreak questions should go into the hacks sub forum related to specific devices. It makes sense for jailbreak questions to be sorted into different devices. For example iPhone jail breakers may ask questions about unlocks etc. which are of no use to iPod touch or iPad users and iPad users may not be able to use iPhone/touch themes due to resolution issues.

The current setup of sub forums makes sense and works. Why fix something that ain't broke.
