I'm starting to think maybe the 64s are shipping a bit later. I ordered a 32GB on the 3rd, but canceled it to order the 64GB on the 17th. My shipping is still standard, but I got the "magical" email this morning at 7 EST.
Strangely, my camera connector and power cord haven't even been prepared for shipment.
My AMEX still isn't showing anything from Apple, either.

I ordered the 32GB on the 2nd and called Apple to change it to a 64GB on April 11th. My order is changed from Standard to Priority. Arrgghh! Every time I check my CC online I see " APL*APPLE ONLINE STORE ", get all excited, and then realize that is for the case they shipped me on Friday.

I've been staring at the damned case I received from them about 2 weeks ago :D

The 64s are NOT shipping later. I ordered a 64 on the 3rd of April. My shipping was changed to PRIORITY last week along with most everyone else's. I also got the magical e-mail this morning. My accessories not only shipped but as of today the last one has been received. I have everything I need except for the 3G.

I am NOT, however, harrassing my credit card company to inquire about pending charges.

WHAT THE $$*# IS WITH YOU PEOPLE???

It's just an iPad.

Obsessing over the exact day, hour, minute and second of shipping is NOT going to make it arrive any sooner.

Haha me too! Luckily, I live in the best part of Houston, Clear Lake. Our Fedex Express guy drops off shipments to our place at about 8:45 AM! :)

Christ! Sorry for speculating.

My amex card does not have a charge but my available balance is about $900 less than it should be. I called and Amex said there is a pending charge from apple. I also received the email at 4:59 am this morning.

Nuts.

I have an AMEX Platinum card...so no credit limit. Now I can't find it if they've charged it or not

I ordered one today. No magic email and no change in shipping.

WHAT GIVES APPLE?!

Just kidding. I'll try to get one from the Apple Store early if I can so I don't have to wait for May 7th.

I'm having surgery May 6th and I want an iPad by then to help my recovery!

Find the truck and demand your package! Or just say it is medication and you need it! :)

whats worse is that the guy sometimes puts our packages on a cross street's porch. We are 9603 and they are 9603 but a DIFFERENT street. Very frustrating. But I may try your angle this time!! :p

I heard having it in your hands (magically) will help you recover faster... shoot you do not even have to turn it on...so I have heard. ;) I hope you get it by then...

BTW - Go Tigers!

I think that with the wifi models, they shipped out on a Monday and UPS delivered them on Saturday. Do you guys think that it's going to be the same thing this time around with people getting their shipments on Saturday from China?? Or Monday From China?

OR....

Friday via a hidden container sent to apple distribution warehouses in the US?

Would Apple pull a Saturday delivery upgrade for people on this round or was it just for the wifi model?

I personally changed my shipping address from my home to my work address because I figured that they would have it arrive during the week where all I'd get is a lovely yellow delivery missed tag.

iPad .... magical and revolutionary healing powers at an unbelievable price.

I think Apple has shown interest by including the feature in the iPhone. AT&T is the one who has failed to allow the feature for over a year. In regards to the iPad, since Apple is still working out carrier agreements and we don't know what is included in the iPad features of 4.0, I'd say it is entirely possible for tethering to be included. The real problem is with AT&T, not Apple.

Oh yeah - Apple's a blameless little angel. From the Apple iPad site:

Can I use my current iPhone service plan with the iPad?
No. The cellular plan for iPhone is separate from the iPad plan.

It seems to me if Apple truly was interested, they'd have leveraged AT&T to allow tethering via the phone. There is absolutely nothing but greed I can discern as reason to deny the feature to the iPhone subscribers. The unlimited data plan should include iPad usage. Period. Forgive my angst, but it would not surprise me if Apple inked some deal to receive a percentage of the data plan subscriber fees.

Sorry to inform you... :( but I been reading this all day and there have been some Chase Visa's that have been pinged today. So keep looking...

My Chase Visa was hit for $12 from Apple...except it's dated yesterday. My order only contained a 3G iPad and a dock (which I already got and was already charged for)...so I'm not sure why I was only charged $12. Just for the priority shipping maybe?

What are you talking about? Apple didn't "not let" AT&T do tethering. Tethering has been a feature since 3.0. AT&T was the one who didn'
t do anything with it. As far as I know, carriers overseas like O2 allow tethering on their iPhones.

Don't be such a jerk, man..chill..

You've got to be kidding. Apple has done everything it can to enable tethering. It works in plenty of countries outside the US. It's AT&T dragging it's feet on that one.

I do agree that AT&T needs to come out with some type of unlimited plan for multiple devices. Gizmodo had a story on this last month I believe. Having a $30 to $60 plan for every device is a great way to watch something fail.
