[Merged] iPad 3G Ship Rumors

My shipping method just changed to "Standard Overnite" so I guess it will be overnight shipping!

Edit: Aha! Only says this when I log in via the UK Store. Logging in via the US Store says Priority still. I guess they mean the same thing but are localised differently. Odd.
 
it's Monday in China

right now it is 5:34am tomorrow (Monday) in China . . . am really hoping in a few short hours we will start seeing the 'prepared for shipment' on the order status :)

It will be a very long week for me; my first niece is on the way. We're using the Gibbz countdown clock to see what happens first: birth or iPad. :D

Apple probably has a decent markup on the cases, so I don't see why they wouldn't have an ample supply on hand to capture the sales now for the WIFIs and to have their stores, Best Buy stores, and their online stores chock full for the people buying the 3Gs. I don't see any business reason for not having thousands if not a hundred thousand more on hand. However, they may not be concerned about a couple million in lost revenue - figuring 100,000 more sales of cases at $20 per case markup.

Of course not. I mean, the difficulties that MBA programs go on and on about relative to international supply chain and inventory issues are highly overrated. In reality, it's so simple that your average MacRumors poster can sort it out without difficulty.
 
Well my account has an authorization for $42.12 that was processed on the 21st (Although the same exact amount was already charged on my last statement for my case which I received April 8th.)

Just today my account now is out the available balance of the full price of my iPad, with no authorization or anything, and I cant call to get more info as it is the weekend. I know people have already posted this but I am just saying I got mine too, and the timing seems right for them to be doing this for Monday production. Those who had no authorization or charge, look for a change!

I have seen people in other threads saying that the preorders for the wifi iPad never changed from Not Yet Shipped to Prepared for Shipping. Instead they simply went from Not Yet Shipped to Shipped.

You should have seen those of us who, during the wifi launch, appeared to become stuck in Korea for about two days and up until the day before the launch. We showed a 'transit scan' in Korea, and nothing else, for about 40 hours...while everyone else was clearing customs and moving on to domestic hubs.

Of course it all turned out to be a tracking quirk, but we were still nuts for a while there. And then the sun rose on Saturday and all those ipads had seemingly teleported from Korea directly to our local town hubs. And there was much rejoicing in the land. And we discussed having commemorative tshirts made.
 
Concerning Multiple Pre-authorizations

I don't know if anyone has already posted about this, but I have had two pre-authorizations come up on my account and then drop off. I began to be concerned as to the possibility of the "real" request for payment being turned down b/c my bank may see this as a security alert (possible fraud).

If you have had multiple pre-authorizations, you might want to call you bank like I did and tell them what is going on and to allow the authorization coming up to go through b/c it will be the "real" request for payment. I would hate to hear about anyone's order getting canceled b/c your bank refuses payment for security reasons. Just trying to be helpful. :)
 
Something's happening. I have a really large pending charge on my Chase account. It's in excess of $800, and I ordered a 64GB 3G.

And today, damn it, I fly off to Baltimore. Returning just in time to take delivery but not use it on the trip.
 
The fact that they are not even appearing as "prepared for shipment" yet, and that the WiFi units started updating on the Saturday before their delivery (a full week ahead of time), it makes me wonder if the 3G units are already in the US and they will simply ship on Thursday via overnight delivery.

Likely so. As long as I get it on the 30th, I don't care which country it comes from :D
 
Issues in Memphis

As you may have scene the weather is not so good in TN. FedEx has halted all shipping to the hub until further notice. The rumor I was told on our order of 50+ IPad's was that they were all shipping to TN to arrive on Wed/Thur and would be shipped guaranteed on Friday. The only exception is acts of god and.or weather.

Memphis

The Memphis weather forecast sure doesn't show any unusual weather for the next 6 days. The "learn More" link to FedEx just talks about last sat, the 24th.

I find their lack of supply on this a bad business decision (yes, using my business degrees to fall back on to make that opinion). What about it do you find as a good business decision? There are substitute goods available and people are choosing to go those routes. It's not like with the iPad itself concerning tablet PCs - there are plenty of other products available that do the exact same thing as the Apple case.
 
I live 10 mins from the FedEx facility here in Memphis. The weather is fine, and will be sunny all week except Friday. That bulletin was in reference to the storms from this past weekend.

If the iPad 3G shipment is here in Memphis, I wish I knew someone at FedEx.
 
I am beginning to have very vivid dreams about receiving the iPad 3G. Two nights ago I dreamed of holding it, showing it off to friends, and then woke up in the middle of the night only to realize that I didn't have it :(

Can anyone make up a rumor so that I have some news to go on before Friday? Much appreciated.

RUMOR: The iPad 3g has been delayed another week.


Just kidding, I'm not that cruel. :p
 
Will changing the shipping address affect my order?

I know some people changed iPad model, and their orders got pushed to May 7th.

Just wondering if changing the shipping address will have the same affect, or if it will be ok!

Placed my order for the 32gb 3G on the 13th.
Got me Pre-Authorize charge for 1.00, 1.00 and 774.56
Then it disappeared
Well i got my FINAL charge for 774.56 this morning from Apple, So this is a actual charge this time, not a hold ( because they already did the hold )

Shipping status still at Priority though.
