I'm not only pissed about not getting the one I had my heart set on, but I'm also pissed about Apple being so damn unreliable. I understand that **** happens, BUT they should have announced this themselves in a proper way. Yay or nay?
Well, It was probably a production error or something.
Just like what happened with the 3rd iPod touch. It was supposed to have a camera, but there was something wrong with production, and they took out the camera. The people making cases go the specs for it.
Who knows, they probably found something wrong with the white model during mass production.

No this is worse... they didn't announce that touch... They effing announced a white iPhone ONE WEEK AGO... They don't wait to manufacture until they freaking ship it... they should have told us at the keynote...
I couldn't agree more... the non existent PR on this is just bad business. Then again, I've never like Apple as a company, but they make a few damn good products.
Not available for pre-order or pick up does not mean that it won't be aviablable at launch.

I'm not mad about there being no white iPhone to choose from. I was seriously on the fence and was going to wait pretty much until launch day when I see both of them in my hand, but since it's not even gonna be there, it makes my decision easier. But I just wish I had the option for one or the other because that what makes it exciting. I have no intentions on waiting after the launch date because I don't have an Apple store where I live and iPhones are very scarce once they run out of the first ones.
True, atelast give people a heads up that the White version wont be available to pre order on the 15th so people who are ready to sell their 3GS wont be without a phone for gosh knows how long
They probably used all the white dye in the new Mac mini that snuck into the store. Yeah yeah, it's unibody. They probably put the white dye in the audio port or something.
It's not only pre-orders it's for launch day as well. According to the article, white won't be available until later this summer, and we all know how long MMS took until "later last summer"

I don't think so. My local AT&T store said they would not have any white iphones come launch day. I do not have an apple store so I don't know about that.
Isnt it possible that apple will start the white pre orders later in the day to help with the strain on the servers?
