Is it the size/shape of the phone pressing against you leg? That would be significantly more likely than anything to do with radiation unless you are many, many, many times more sensitive than normal.

I've considered that too, but I see no reason why it would cause discomfort. I've carried around cell phones for years with no problems. I've only experienced this with the last 2 cell phones I've owned.

amazingly enough leg problem can be tracked to bad posture, improper fitting shoes, and really big wallets.

consider when you bought your shoes...was it 2 years ago?

Do u have a really big wallet?

Doubt radiation would bother your leg more as how your shoes effect your heels, and you wallet binds your butt.

Could be the heat coming from the screen. That's not really radiation, but actual heat from the iPhone from being in a "3 min or 5 min or never" autolock mode. Meaning, the screen stays lit or at the home screen undimmed for a period long enough to noticeably feel an abnormal amount of heat, not radiation. Hope this helps...:(

If you believe the "radiation" is affecting your legs, you better worry about your genitals:D

They're also in close proximity to the iPhone in you pocket:eek:

My leg sometimes bothers me when I keep my iPhone in my pocket. I'm curious if this has anything to do with the radiation it's putting out.

My last phone sometimes did the same (it had around the same SAR level), but I've never experienced anything else with my previous phones.

Has anyone else experienced anything similar?

I HIGHLY doubt that radiation from iPhone's cell antenna is causing your problems. The radiation level is too low.

If you do have a really big wallet, you could use it to sue Apple for a gazillion dollars plus exemplary damages plus whatever for daring to release a device that is clearly not proven to be safe. Even if it is just you. Your lawyer will love you.

I do get pain from my wallet, but that is only in cars.

I've found this pain to be a direct correlation (i.e. pain when iphone is in pocket, no pain when iphone is not in pocket).

Mine is in my front pocket everyday and there's nothing wrong with my leg. But, I was at the airport the other day and this older lady came running up to me and began pulling on my arm, crying, and yelling "Son, it's me your mother!" I said your not my Mother, please let go of me. She fell to the ground and started pulling on my leg, screaming "Son, Son, it's me your mother!" She began crawling and grabbing and pulling my leg...just like I'm pulling your leg...LOL:D Go see a doctor.

lolz!!

just use one of these and you'll be fine

have you thought about getting your head/hypochondria checked out?

Your iPhone is not giving your leg radiation poisoning and if it were slowly giving you cancer it's not like it'd just hurt when the phone was in your pocket

I agree.
We're constantly exposed to low levels of radiation everywhere we go. A cell phone's tiny amount wouldn't cause your leg to hurt. It could be a number of things... in fact, if you are scared of radiation causing harm to you, it may be a mental thing that's making your leg hurt. That sort of stuff happens to me.

My leg hurts too. Stupid phone.

Ouchie. Thread Starter - You sure it's not just in your head? As in a tumor in you head causing both the pain and nearly retard level of thinking?

This Newbie is good at only 2 things.

1) Getting most of MacRumors guys all worked up.
And...
2) Giving the rest a laugh.

That was soooo effin funny

Go to the doctor see what he says, I can see it now.

Patient: "Doc, my leg hurts when I put my cellphone in this pocket here."

Doctor: "Let me see if I can figure this out."

Doctor looks at the phone, has the patient pull down his pants to inspects the leg.

Doctor gets up with a look of intense concentration on his face as he walks around thinking.

Doctor stands behind patient, and WHACKS him on the back of the head.

Patient: screams "Oww, what the hell did you do that for?"

Doctor: "Take the phone out of the box."

A lot of folks are giving you a hard time above, but I have experienced this as well with an older BlackBerry I used to carry around. I haven't really noticed it with my current BlackBerry, but I carry it in a different holster and I always use an earpiece with it (try to never hold it to my head).

I can also notice some wireless networks. I used to install wireless networks in homes with repeaters and such and could at times "feel" the wireless radiation in my chest. My partner couldn't and thought I was crazy. I proved it to him one day by blindly being able to tell him when he turned a wireless AP on and off.

I just believe some people are more sensitive to microwave frequencies, particularly 2.4GHz, which used by many wireless devices (cellphones, wireless networking, some wireless cordless phones) and also used in the microwave oven in your kitchen to cook food.

The proof is in the pudding. And by pudding I mean your chest and by proof I mean another random person doing personal *research*

Are your pants tighter than they were before so the phone is pressing against you? Are the last two phones bigger than the previous? Have you stopped exercising or changed your diet so your circulation is worse?

There was an article last year about how carrying a cell phone in front pockets, appears to be related to lower viable sperm count in boys and young men.

As for "feeling" the radiation, I've been in that situation around lots of WiFi-using devices on a desk, all transmitting during a test. Can't describe the feeling.

But it reminds me of when I was getting zapped with high intensity radiation for cancer.

I'm seriously thinking of relocating my router further away from my desk, just in case.
