Are there any applications for us gym-goers? For instance, it would be somewhat of a to-do list, where the main menu (upon launching would have titles (such as in Notes) that you can click on, such as Day 1: Chest & Tricep and it would be able to input a list of your different parts of your workout (such as 1. Bench Press (45x2) 2. Tricep Kick-backs (20) etc.)

You'd be able to check off each exercise until you were finished, and possibly reset it afterwards for when you do that workout in the future.

I think it would be very convenient for those of us who go to the gym, and would like to be more organized than having a piece of paper with a list of our workout on it.

I assume/hope this is already in the App Store, but if not, it would be great if a developer could code one up, I'd even be willing to pay for it. It wouldn't need to be very complex, but extra features (can't think of any at the moment, haha) could be added to. It has a lot of potential as an application.

    Cheers!

    Cardio/weightloss...

Are there any apps that can help you build a workout routine...much like what a personal trainer would do?

    This would be awesome. :D
I could definitely use a program to help guide me in the right direction to tone up.

It'd be nice if you could also enter how much weight and how many repetitions you were able to do, so it could track your progress over time.

You'd have to be careful with it though - I can imagine several places in a weightroom where it could get damaged.

there is so much potential for this. Imagine sincing your iphone to one of those heart rate watchs, with the chest strap. Along with gps recording how fast you are running and for what distance.

I just picked that off the top of my head so I could get enough posts to start my own thread. But just imagine. There are so many other fitness applications possible. And thats just fitness. This is why I freaking love this technology.

The one I found is Fit Phone.

I am kind hesitant to buy it looking at the reviews but it sure shows a lot of promise.

Yeah...being able to enter weight range, weight goal, bmi, etc, etc.
It would be pretty neat if there were a way to monitor calorie intake as well (meal plans or guides).

I can only dream that these would be cheap...but at least be cheaper than a personal trainer. (otherwise, it's not worth the trouble.) :D

I've been looking for this too! Gmyminee doesn't look bad but I wish they had a native app.

    Not available here. :(

But yes, web apps are all well and good, but I'm looking for a native app. And, it would be quite difficult to damage your iPhone while working out. Considering I use it for music and have never even given it a scratch at the gym so far, I can imagine that putting it on the ground while you're bench pressing wouldn't do it much harm. If you broke it while at the gym, you're frankly retarded.

Where is here? I have been taking my iPhone to the gym and nothing has ever happened to it. I agree that you would really have to be careless to break it but oh well, there are those people ;)

You are all more than welcome to try out Gym Technik on your iPhone. It is a free application.

You can visit us at www.gymtechnik.com

It is a mobile fitness tracking application built for the blackberry but due to popular request we have also optimized use of the application on safari so it will work on your MAC and your iPhone.

Just visit www.gymtechnik.com on your desktop to setup your account and workout routines - and then fire away with your iPhone at the gym to track.

Enjoy and let us know what you think and how it works for you as we are fairly new.
