I had the white iPhone 3G for 11 months. Not once did someone tell me that it was girly. It doesn't look girly at all, IMO.

Seriously, it's a white phone vs a black phone. Reading masculinity or femininity into that is just... worrying too much.
I got the white because I liked it more. I also liked the black.
I'm going white, becuase it'll hide any scratches/smudges better, and thus hold the value better... atleast thast my theory.
The majority of iPhone's I've seen around are black, and owned by men and women.
However, all the white iPhone's I've noticed belonged to women.

Every guy that I know who has an iPhone 3G (3 of them) has the white one except my boyfriend (who I didn't allow to get the white one because it was his fault I got stuck with a 2G and I really wanted the white.) Me and him both just ordered the White 3G S.

Personally I dislike the white because it's white on the back and black on the front.
I liked the iPods (white and metalic) because the front and back matched a lot closer. But the white/black contrast doesn't really work for me.
It's not a "black or white" question. It's really "Black?" or "Black and White?"

If you are asking this, yes. Yes, you are. If you want a white one, then just get a white one. But to answer your question, I've seen a lot of guys sporting a white iPhone.

One thing to consider is that the 8GB came only in black, and the 16GB came in black as well as white. Since most buyers bought the 8GB (IIRC), and the 16GB buyers were split, there'd of course be more black ones out there.
Plus, of course, there were a number of guys who bought the black one simply because they were afraid the white would make them look effeminate. Ironically, the decision to buy based on that sort of proves a certain lack of masculinity. It's fine to buy black if you prefer black. But to buy it just because you're worried people might think you're not straight? That's just sad.

i have an affinity for things that most people dont have ie the white iphone compared to the black. but im not sure if ill get sick of the white one.

I once bought a white car years ago and caught no end of hell for it, so I know what you mean. In any case, you really need a case (no pun intended). Seriously. The first time you drop your phone, you will really wish you had a case on it. So it sorta doesn't matter what color the iPhone is, IMO.

Seriously, who cares what colour you have. I'll be getting White mainly because to me White looks better on the iPhone.
Don't listen to these people, it will lower your masculinity. Women will think of you as one of their own. I'm telling you man, don't do it. These men have already switched to the 'white side' and they are just trying to corrupt you.

I always wanted the white iPhone, but also didn't like the black face on the white back. Needless to say, I ordered a black 3GS...still kinda want the white.

I think the white looks a little girly so I went with the black. This is just my opinion. Either way I will most likely putting a case on it.
