Run it under rosetta

for those that dont want to install a beta or want to stick with your pro version, try running it under rosetta, it should work

thanks for the beta recommendation but...

lol, i could already pick out an obvious bug in the first 30 seconds of running it: the download badge is cut off.

the beta worked for me tooo....THANKs....im downgrading from PRO but I guess this will have to do temporarily.

some body post something if you get the normal PRO working again please :)

run it under rosetta...

This works and you don't need to run the beta version. Simply locate the limewire icon in the finder window, command I for the info(or right click and find it that way) and select the rosseta tab. I had the exact same problems as posted above and did everything from rebooting and reinstalling, nothing has worked but this rosseta option did so give it a try.

I have an iMac and a macbook if that helps, other than those two i can't really say if it's going to work but it's worth a try.

I Have The Answer!!!!!!!!!!

alright .. so i have a power pc mac with leapord .. if you have snow leapord and you download the latest version you should have no problem... however if you have leapord and not an up to date mac here is the problem :

you have to download the previous limewire : 4.18.4 limewire

http://download.cnet.com/LimeWire-X/3000-2196_4-10891176.html

and thats it !!!!
no java no ******** .. the latest version just isn't compatible with older macs.. i did it and downloaded fine .. works fine... im 128 songs deep right now!

oh and dont thank me... thank my dad... he figured it out... cause i was up and down these forums on more then one website... enjoy!

I found a way to fix it!!!, find the limewire app logo under Macintosh HD>Applications>Limewire then right click or control click on the Limewire icon. Click "get info" and uncheck "open in 32 bit mode." It SHOULD work now, it worked on my computer. :D
