Merging calls on o2 Simplicity UK iPhones

Hi guys

I got a UK iPhone which I have hacked to use with o2 simplicity contract

As far as I was aware, everything should work except visual voicemail.

The trouble is, I cannot get the call merge facility to work.
when you try to merge 2 calls, it looks as if its going to do it for a split second, then goes back to putting one call on hold.

Has anybody else got the same problem, Has anyone else tried using merge calls? Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

it probably isnt the phone

you need to enable multiple calls buy phoning o2 and asking them to enable it

Has anyone else rang o2 and asked for this?

I figure if I ring them and ask for it they will know I'm using an iPhone?
they can't disable my phone or anything can they?
