Merging contacts from Imail/Contacts with Gmail contacts

Is there any easy way of merging the two? so that I do NOT receive dupes or loose information? Trying to avoid the cut & paste and manually doing this.

Are you trying to import your Gmail contacts to your address book, or import your address book contacts into Gmail (or both)?

If it's the former, you could try this app: Address Book Importer 2 (although I've never tried it, so use at your own risk).

I would like to import the contacts from the gmail acct into the Address book
