Merging Photos

Does anyone know of some decent software that I can use on my Mac to merge several photos together i.e. to create a wide landscape shot? Can't see anything in iPhoto that would help me do this 😕

There's the expensive option: Adobe Photoshop.

And then there's the free option: GIMP.
