    I'm not exactly sure how there being tens of thousands of people lined up around the world to spend $200-$300 on their products equals a bad day, but perhaps it's not a perfect day for Apple.

    If the activation server being down meant that they couldn't even sell the phones, then it would be a bad day.

    bad day = thousands of people lined up around the world to spend $200-$300 on their products not being able to buy said products.
