Actually no, I love Meryl Streep! But this scene in The Devil Wears Prada made me cringe hard.
Because Streep tossed the cardigan on top of the Mac carelessly. Why? It's the scene where Andy becomes top assistant and Emily is now left in the dust. In other words, it's a "Promotion" for Andy due to Miranda trusting her more so than Emily.
It's Miranda... would you try to talk back at her?Because Streep tossed the cardigan on top of the Mac carelessly.
Truthfully?………. Probably not. It's Miranda... would you try to talk back at her?
Good man, you value your life.Truthfully?………. Probably not.

Close! Not a Mac, but note my display, and the display in the movie. They're both Apple Cinema HD Displays. I was actually watching the movie on this display at the time.Because Streep tossed the cardigan on top of the Mac carelessly.
I feel bad for Emily but at the same time Andrea earned her promotion. Emily was an incompetent disappointment and failed at her duties as 1st assistant. Miranda wasn't wrong in demoting her, but she should have did it herself. It was cruel for her to let Andrea take the blunt of it.
They are connected. Everything goes through that white cable. This includes power, video, USB, and Firewire. I'm still using mine with a Monterey Mac mini BTW.Always loved how the displays weren't connected to anything. Miranda probably was an early adopter of the M1 iMac in ACD form.
We've gone backwards! /sThey are connected. Everything goes through that white cable. This includes power, video, USB, and Firewire. I'm still using mine with a Monterey Mac mini BTW.
BTW, you see in one scene that Andrea touched the right side of the screen when she left her desk. This makes sense since this model has a power button (as well as brightness buttons) on the side.

Emily only looked good cause there was no one else. But in the first scene of Miranda and Emily you can tell Emily struggled as she had an issue with a confirmation.I feel bad for Emily but at the same time Andrea earned her promotion. Kind of. In ports and connectivity I'll give to you, but not in the display quality. Although prices now... ughWe've gone backwards! /s
Ahh, I had no idea the film originated from a book. They really humanized Miranda in the movie. I strongly urge fans of the movie to read Weisberger's source novel. The Miranda Priestly written in the book is 100x crueler, and is essentially a totally different character (British, younger, impossibly thin, blonde, and undoubtedly sadistic).
It balances it out bc Andy in the book is also a terrible person who has this awful pretentious attitude, and seems to deliberately want to push Miranda's buttons...Ahh, I had no idea the film originated from a book.
In that case, I will pass. I will only dislike Miranda even more lol
