M macjock macrumors regular Original poster Sep 22, 2013 #1 I have turned off preview so that when I receive a text it just says Joe blogs Text message On my lock screen. Is there a way for the phone to not show who the text is from and either way was it possible to do this on iOS 6? Many thanks.

So you want to receive a text and not know who is sending it? Hmm sounds weird. Either way I don't think you can. You can go into contacts and change the name of the person there to say "Joe Blow" if you choose.
