Message app Chinese character greetings disappeared

Several in Chinese: Congrats, Thank You, 'More effort', etc. that were available with traditional English ones have disappeared after restoring iOS 10.12.3 to factory state (to get rid of some issues). How do I get them back? Thanks.

Where would those greetings be? And add we talking about iOS or macOS?

Don't remember which version of iOS but have been diligently upgrading iOS as soon as available.
