Message count stuck

Not that I'm keeping track, but I've noticed my message count is stuck at 918, while I've been posting numerous messages since yesterday. How come? Just curious...

[edit] and now it has changed to 919..oh well...nevermind...

ok after a careful study , starting this thread got me one more post, but posting in existing threads have no effect on message count, how's that?

If you post in the PRSI or the console game forums, then your post count will not change.

We also don't count posts made to the Politics, Religion, Social Issues forum, the Console Games forum, the Code Sharing and Software Promos forum, and the Marketplace forum.

Depends on the 'existing thread'; as others have pointed out, if you post in PRSI (and one or two others) this will have no effect on your message out, as posts in PRSI are not counted towards your total number of posts.
