Not sure where to post this as it involves my Apple Watch too but I have posted here as this has happened since upgrading to the iPhone X
I messaged "contact 001" from my new iPhone X. They replied saying its coming from my email address not my number, so it made a new conversation. Being a long time iPhone user I thought I had sorted this out ages ago, probably when first setting up messages with email/number and all new conversations coming from my number.
So I messaged "contact 002" asking if it is going to a new conversation they said no.
"Contact 002" later messaged me so I replied from my Apple Watch. They replied saying it is coming from a new conversation...
I have not changed any settings, just restored my phone from backup and carried on.
What could be going on?
Another issue which I'm not sure if I should make a new post but I will add it here first as it might be connected. This morning I had lots of message notification on my Apple Watch but nothing on my iPhone. Looks like these were old messages coming through (again maybe). When opening messages on my Apple Watch some older messages still have the blue dot next to them saying I haven't checked them, the most recent message though is the message that I sent back.
