message problem on iPhone x

with text messages when you open a message and than want to go back to the main message page with the
arrowhead at the upper left when i try to click it it just scrolls to the top of the current message.
anyone else have this problem?

i think you may be missing the arrow with your finger and are instead touching above it (touching the time)..

when you touch the status area, it will scroll to the top of the page (in many different apps.. on iPhones other than the X too)

You should be able to just swipe right on (the middle of) the screen and that should do the same thing, in case that would be faster/simpler to do.
