Messages and Notifications Problem

When I switch the phone(X) to vibrate the sound still comes through on messages. It’s extremely annoying as the whole point in switching to vibrate is to mute ALL sounds. Is this a bug or am I missing something?

Yes. That has to be it. Thank you.

But, that’s kind of BS. That should only affect when you have DND on. Not all the time.

That's how I had hoped it would work as well, but seems like Apple's take on emergency bypass goes beyond DND essentially.
