Messages app not syncing with iphone

I am using Tahoe. I turned icloud sharing on settings and in the Messages app and on my iphone. There are some old messages on the Messages app, and new ones on my iphone but the Messages app refuses to sync no matter what i do. I logged out of Apple ID, i turned all sync off and on again, on iphone ON/OFF , restarted both devices, I even went into the ~/Library/ directory and deleted the Messages folders content in hope to start a clean sheet but it will just not sync between the 2 devices. When I was using Monterey MacOS 12 it worked, but now on Tahoe and a new computer it will not work. Any ideas?

I have the same problem, but it's intermittent. And I have no solution. A few months ago I was forced to use Starlink (my ISP went bust and none of the others would run fiber through a forest to me). At first, Mail had terrible synching problems, but I fussed with it and now it's stable. I do wonder whether the Messages issue might have something to do with failed synch up to iCloud and/or back. I don't have any way to test that.

How much storage do you have left in your iCloud?

Did you try to force a sync on the iphone (should be similar on the Mac) in settings -> iCloud -> iCloud -> messages sync now?
