Messages continually asks for access to contacts.

Just installed Mavericks on third Mac. Messages continually asks for access to contacts at start up. How do I turn it off. Other two Macs with Mavericks (installed several months ago) do not have this problem.🙁

Check permissions on the prefs file. Mine got hosed during a recent Mavericks migration and I had a mess on my hands with more than just iMessage. Your experience was one of the many issues I had. If they're ok, trash the prefs file and restart iMessage. If they're not ok, go to Apple's discussion forums and look for Linc Davis posts on the subject. Don't bother with MacRumors.
