Messages: how do I switch between iMessage and AIM?

I started an iMessage conversation with someone. She then switched to AIM and the conversation remained in the same thread.

How do I switch it back to iMessage? It seems that in the beta it was possible to click on the person's name and select another protocol:

But that option isn't there anymore.

When I click on the contact's name, there is a drop-down menu to select a different protocol in ML, just like in your photo.

I restarted the application and I've got the options now.
