Messages: How to use Google Chatrooms/Google Groups?

I noticed that Messages can use chat rooms. However, it seems like Google doesn't have chat rooms. It looks like the closest thing Google has to chatrooms is Google Groups.

Does anyone know how to get Google Groups to work with Messages?
